What is a Task Button?

A task button is an item in graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that allows users to issue commands by clicking it with a mouse, touching it, or using the keyboard enter key to compress it. Task buttons are usually small and rectangular and when they appear on pop menus allow users to perform tasks such as "cancel," "save," and "print. This important component of GUIs makes navigating and executing tasks simple even for people with limited computer skills.
